The total foreign trade of Montenegro in 2022 amounted to EUR 4.24 billion

The total foreign trade of Montenegro in 2022 amounted to EUR 4.24 billion, according to Monstat’s preliminary data. That, in general, indicates a growth of 44.1% compared to 2021.

The export of goods had a value of EUR 700.2 million and recorded a growth of 60.2%. We gave EUR 3.54 billion for the import of goods, which is a growth of 41.3%.

– The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 19.8% and is higher compared to the same period of the previous year when it amounted to 17.4% – stated from Monstat.

In the structure of exports, according to the standard international trade classification (SMTK), the most represented are mineral fuels and lubricants in the amount of EUR 209.9 million, which are electricity with EUR 170.2 million and others.

In the structure of imports, machines and transport devices are the most represented in the amount of EUR 709.7 million. This segment consists of road vehicles with EUR 228.4 million, followed by electrical machines, appliances and devices with EUR 142.2 million and others.

The largest foreign trade partners in exports remained Serbia, to which we exported goods worth EUR 149.4 million, followed by Switzerland with EUR 107.9 million and Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUR 90.6 million.

– Last year, we imported the most from Serbia, where we received goods in the amount of EUR 614.7 million. In second place is China with EUR 330.6 million, followed by Greece with EUR 295.4 million – Monstat data show.

Foreign trade was the largest with CEFTA signatories and with the European Union.
