NLB Bank’s strong performance and strategic focus on sustainable development recognized by Montenegro’s Central Bank

The business parameters of NLB Bank confirm that this credit institution is one of the important players in the Montenegrin banking market, further obligating it to continuously work on improving services and enriching its offerings, announced the Governor of the Central Bank (CBCG), Irena Radović.

During a meeting with representatives of the Management Board of NLB Bank, namely its president Martin Leberle and member Lana Đurasović, Radović stated that good business indicators of banks are very important for CBCG, as they guarantee the health and resilience of the banking system.

“The business parameters of NLB Bank confirm that this credit institution is one of the important players in the Montenegrin banking market, which further obliges you to continuously work on improving services and enriching the offer, with the aim of constantly improving the customer experience,” Radović emphasized.

According to CBCG, she particularly praised the active socially responsible role of NLB Bank and welcomed its focus on the green economy and sustainable development, which are strategically important components of future development promoted and supported by CBCG.

Representatives of NLB Bank presented the most important business indicators of the credit institution in the previous year, highlighting that, with a strong capital and liquidity position and the growth of newly approved loans, the quality of NLB Bank’s assets is continuously improving, with the share of non-performing loans (NPL) in total loans in this bank below the average NPL at the system level.

“Such results enable NLB Bank to work on further strengthening its market position, focusing on stronger lending to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as the backbone of the domestic economy,” said Leberle.

According to him, the further plans of the NLB Group are related to investments in the green economy and digital technologies.
