Discovering Montenegro: Belgian media’s expedition

The National Tourism Organization (NTO) of Montenegro orchestrated a captivating study tour for Belgian media, spanning from Thursday to Monday, aimed at spotlighting the destination across Belgian markets.

Representatives from various print media outlets, including De Zondag, Papillio, Markant Magazine, Het Nieuwsblad, and N/A Magazine, participated, collectively reaching approximately three million readers and wielding considerable influence throughout Belgium.

Throughout their expedition in Montenegro, Belgian journalists traversed the breadth of the country, commencing their journey in Kolašin and the Biogradska Gora National Park, proceeding to explore the wonders of Lake Skadar, delving into the Šipčanik wine cellar, and culminating their coastal exploration.

Expressing their impressions, the journalists extolled Montenegro’s multifaceted offerings, from its breathtaking landscapes to its gastronomic delights, enriching their travel experiences.

Brigitte Vermeulen, a correspondent from the quarterly entertainment magazine Markant, conveyed gratitude for the opportunity to uncover hidden treasures, picturesque beaches, and relish in the hospitality of charming local eateries, accentuated by the flavors of local wines.

“Furthermore, your warm hospitality enhanced our journey, fostering a sense of belonging. We eagerly anticipate returning to unearth more hidden gems,” Vermeulen expressed.

The journalists embarked on expeditions to the Old Town of Bar, Sveti Stefan and Budva, immersing themselves in the historical splendor of Kotor’s Old Town and the allure of Perast, before concluding their sojourn with visits to Cetinje and the enchanting Lipa Cave.

Their accounts brimmed with admiration for Montenegro’s natural allure and diverse tourism offerings, underscoring the country’s appeal.

Jolien Pollet, a journalist from the family-oriented Het Nieuwsblad, resonated with Montenegro’s landscapes and the array of family-friendly activities, from thrilling adventures to serene beach respites.

“I’m captivated by Montenegro’s scenic beauty, from the vibrant south to the tranquil north. The cruise on Lake Skadar left an indelible impression, offering a serene communion with nature amidst lush greenery,” Pollet shared.

Belgian media luminaries unanimously agreed that Montenegro presents an unforgettable tapestry of experiences, catering to every traveler’s whim with its blend of natural wonders, cultural treasures, and warm hospitality.

In addition to NTO Montenegro, the endeavor received staunch support from local tourism entities in Bar, Kolašin, Cetinje, Kotor, Montenegro’s National Parks, Bianca Resort & Spa, Ami Hotel, Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort, Hotel Budva, Hotel Conte, the Šipčanik wine cellar, and the enchanting Lipa Cave.
