Montenegro offers a variety of attractions that are not exclusively aimed at skiers, said the Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić.
She attended the awards ceremony for the winners of the Snowboard World Cup in Bansko, at the invitation of Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism, Miroslav Boršoš.
“This was an opportunity to exchange experiences in winter tourism and discuss the potential for improving cooperation,” the Ministry of Tourism stated.
During the event, Kordić introduced her counterparts to the ski resorts in Montenegro, adding that there should be consideration for joint tourist packages for remote destinations.
“There are many opportunities for cooperation, not only in winter but also in summer. Montenegro offers a variety of attractions that are not exclusively for skiers. It is a small country, but with great possibilities,” Kordić said.
Boršoš emphasized that Bansko showcases the best of Bulgarian ski tourism, including hospitality, ski slopes, and world-class facilities.
“Cooperation among Balkan countries is a key prerequisite for better positioning of the region and for building a positive image of the region on the global tourism stage. The Balkans is not just a geographical region – it is a bridge between cultures, history, and traditions,” said Boršoš.
Kordić is on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism, aimed at intensifying cooperation and discussing the establishment of a direct flight route between Podgorica and Sofia.
During her visit, she also held meetings with officials from Sofia and Plovdiv.
