The gross domestic product (GDP) of Montenegro grew by 6.9 percent in the second quarter, according to Monstat’s preliminary data.
According to preliminary results, the GDP in the second quarter amounted to almost 1.69 billion euros, while in the same period last year it was 1.42 billion euros.
As stated in the report, this is the highest growth recorded in the observed period in Europe. Of the countries in the region, Croatia grew by 2.7 percent, Serbia by 1.7 percent, and Slovenia by 1.4 percent. Monstat also announced that the GDP of Montenegro grew by 6.4 percent last year.
“GDP last year amounted to 5.92 billion euros, while in 2021 it amounted to 4.96 billion euros,” the announcement states.
GDP per inhabitant last year amounted to 9,600 euros, while in 2021 it amounted to 8,000 euros.
The gross national income (GNI) of Montenegro last year, according to Monstat data, amounted to 6.04 billion euros and is nominally higher than in 2021 by 19.5 percent.
