The year that has just passed has been a record-breaking one for MTEL, marked by historic achievements, innovation and a commitment to social responsibility. According to MTEL’s CEO, Zoran Milovanović, the company has firmly established itself as the absolute leader in the telecommunications sector, driven by its dedication to customers and technological advancements.
“We are leaders not only in terms of the number of users but also in terms of the number of socially responsible projects, as well as our continuous investments in healthcare, sports, and education,” Milovanović said in an interview with Pobjeda. “The business year has been highly successful, continuing the trends of 2023, which was a year of record profits.”
Market share
Milovanović emphasized that MTEL enters 2025 with a market share of 40.7% in mobile users, 41.2% in TV services, and over 44% in the internet segment.
“These results are a source of pride for all MTEL employees, and they remind us of the responsibility that comes with being a leader,” he continued. “While these results are gratifying, they also push us to continuously innovate, set trends, and ensure that our customers always know they are with us on the right path.”
He added that innovation and dedication are key to MTEL’s ongoing success. “We are confident that in 2025 and beyond, we will have many more ideas to move forward. We know where we are and where we’re going. I trust our employees and our customers, and we will continue to boldly and diligently lead the way.”
Milovanović also noted the success of MTEL’s self-care platform, Moj m:tel app, which now boasts over 200,000 active users. “Our app allows easy and secure bill payments and the activation of revolutionary services like ‘SiguranNet’, the MOVE TV platform, and many more.”
Investments and technological advancements
He highlighted that 2024 was the year of significant investments, particularly in the development of MTEL’s 5G network. “The fifth generation of mobile communications opens a new chapter in the technological world, with benefits for industries such as economy, healthcare, and education. Our goal is to bring 5G to every household in Montenegro,” Milovanović explained. “We have been educating the public about 5G’s capabilities, and last year, we organized a major promotion of 5G in three cities—Podgorica, Bar, and Nikšić—showcasing its potential.”
Additionally, MTEL’s MOVE TV platform has revolutionized digital television in Montenegro, offering over 250 channels, seven-day content rewind, personalized content, and high-definition quality. Milovanović proudly stated, “MOVE TV takes digital TV experiences to a whole new level, competing with the world’s top streaming platforms.”
Plans for the future
Looking ahead, Milovanović emphasized that MTEL, with its committed employees, will continue to improve existing services and develop new ones. “Our customers’ trust grows every day, and that motivates us to always deliver the best,” he noted. “Satisfied customers are our goal and our motivation in 2025 and beyond.”
MTEL’s position in the market, according to Milovanović, is the result of hard work, continuous learning, and growth. “We are always learning—not just from each other, but from our customers as well,” he said, “which is why I can announce a year of major projects that will delight all Montenegrin citizens.”
Social responsibility and education
MTEL has long been recognized for its social responsibility and focus on the community. Milovanović mentioned that MTEL has been hosting workshops in Montenegrin primary schools for the past year, teaching children about online safety. “We feel a responsibility to ensure our users are safe while using our services, and these workshops help the youngest internet users understand how to stay safe online.”
In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation, MTEL has also been organizing workshops and competitions in robotics, programming, and 3D printing for students and young professionals. “Through our Digital Factory, we continue to educate citizens about the jobs of the future, with over 150 workshops, lectures and training sessions held this year,” Milovanović said.
He also mentioned that MTEL has signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Justice to jointly educate citizens on cyber security, with a special focus on vulnerable groups.
Supporting sports
MTEL’s commitment to sports is also evident in its sponsorships and support for local athletes and teams. In 2024, MTEL entered into a general sponsorship agreement with the water polo and swimming club Jadran from Herceg Novi. As a result, the club now competes under the name Jadran M:tel.
“MTEL is proud to be associated with such great achievements,” Milovanović said. “Our name is always present where big things happen—sports, culture, education, and entertainment. We’re especially proud to support the MTEL Arena Morača, which has become a hub for cultural and sports events. He further emphasized that MTEL would continue its support for sports clubs and national teams. “We understand the positive impact sports have on society, and we are committed to backing our athletes and clubs in every way possible.”
