Monteput secures contracts for design of three major expressways to enhance regional links

Monteput d.o.o. has signed contracts for the development of design solutions for three key expressways in Montenegro. According to the announcement, these projects aim to precisely define the routes and technical solutions, marking an important step in planning a modern and efficient transportation system with a focus on improving connections within Montenegro and with neighboring countries.

The contract for the design of the expressway route Crnča – Pljevlja – Bosnia and Herzegovina border has been awarded to the consortium Geotechnics Project & Consulting d.o.o. from Podgorica. The contract is valued at €157,000 (excluding VAT), with a completion deadline of five months. The project covers a 93-kilometer route, and will involve the development of technical solutions for bridges, tunnels, and other key elements, taking into account technical, environmental, and economic aspects. This expressway will improve connectivity between Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja, and also strengthen the link between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A second contract was signed with Via Project d.o.o. for the development of a design solution for the Andrijevica – Čakor motorway section, valued at €83,000 (excluding VAT), with a completion deadline of four months. This project involves defining the route that will connect Montenegro and Kosovo. The current Spatial Plan of Montenegro envisages a motorway corridor from Andrijevica to Peć, and the design solution will determine the optimal route, paving the way for subsequent stages of project documentation and the eventual construction of this important transportation corridor.

The third contract, valued at €107,000 (excluding VAT), was also awarded to the Geotechnics Project & Consulting d.o.o. consortium for the design of the expressway route Danilovgrad – Nikšić. The completion deadline for this project is five months. The planned expressway, which will be 31 kilometers long, will improve the connection between the two cities, while linking with major corridors such as the Bar – Boljare motorway and the Adriatic-Ionian motorway, further contributing to the development of Montenegro’s transport network.

At the beginning of this year, Monteput adopted an ambitious Work Plan, and the signing of these contracts, along with previous agreements, demonstrates the realization of its objectives. These projects are part of a broader strategy focused on modernizing the country’s infrastructure in line with the strategic goals set by the Montenegrin government. The development of design solutions is a crucial step in preparing project documentation for 18 sections of expressways and motorways. These sections are part of five development corridors defined by the government, with a total length of approximately 260 kilometers of motorways and 220 kilometers of expressways.

The construction of these planned motorways and expressways will significantly reduce travel time, enhance safety, and improve the comfort of road transport across Montenegro, the company stated.
