According to preliminary data from Monstat, Montenegro’s GDP grew by 2.7% in the second quarter of 2023, reaching nearly €1.85 billion, up from €1.72 billion during the same period last year.
In the region, Serbia experienced the highest growth rate at 4%, followed by Croatia at 3.3% and North Macedonia at 2.3%.
Monstat also reported a GDP growth of 6.3% for Montenegro in the previous year.

- Last year’s GDP totaled €6.96 billion, compared to €5.92 billion in 2022.
The GDP per capita for 2022 was €10,990, an increase from €9,600 the previous year.
Additionally, Montenegro’s Gross National Income (GNI) for last year was €7.03 billion, reflecting a nominal increase of 16.4% compared to 2022.
- The primary income balance from abroad was positive at €68.4 million last year, though this figure is €49.6 million lower than in the prior year, as noted by Monstat officials.
GNI per capita in the previous year was €11,100.
