Montenegro expects to double revenue from beach leasing with new pricing structure

Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, Janko Odović, announced that the new price list for leasing Montenegrin beaches would double the state’s revenue to around 14 million euros, compared to the previous earnings of about seven million euros.

During a working breakfast with journalists held at the ministry, Odović stated that the implementation of the new price list is expected to start in October, as reported by Mina. He mentioned that the leasing prices for hotel beaches would remain unchanged, while others would undergo modifications based on last year’s revenue and the exclusivity of the location, according to Vesti.

He explained that there would be three categories of beaches with different prices.

Odović emphasized the necessity of changes in this sector, highlighting that one of the beaches near Budva generated 1.2 million euros in revenue last year, while some earned 600,000 euros on Velika Beach in Ulcinj. He also mentioned that he would consider the Chamber of Commerce’s proposal to extend beach leases for a period of ten years.
