Boris Mugoša, the head of the parliamentary club of the Social Democrats (SD) and representative of the European Union, wrote on the social network “X” that the GDP growth in 2024 is the lowest in the last eight years.
According to his calculations, the GDP growth in 2024 is around 3%, despite the government’s projection of 3.8%.
“If this turns out to be accurate, it will be the smallest annual GDP growth in the last eight years (with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic),” Mugoša emphasized.
He stated that these are indicative figures that once again highlight the need to diversify the economy and improve its competitiveness.
“Let me remind you that last year, the import coverage by export was the lowest in the past 15 years, only 15.1%, and the largest foreign trade deficit in the last 15 years was recorded, amounting to around 3.5 billion euros,” Mugoša concluded.
