Montenegro set to welcome “The Ocean Race Europe 2025”

Montenegro will serve as a host for part of the International Sailing Race “The Ocean Race Europe 2025”, Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulović announced. This marks the first time the event will take place in the Adriatic Sea.

Scheduled for September next year, the race will begin in the Baltic and finish in the Mediterranean. The grand finale will be held in Boka Kotorska, where Radulović expressed enthusiasm about welcoming both sailors and fans, highlighting the themes of unity and a shared passion for the sea.

The Ocean Race is recognized as one of the premier global sailing events, promoting ocean conservation while drawing in a large number of participants. The finale will showcase Montenegro’s maritime heritage and reinforce its European identity.

Radulović indicated that hosting the event will significantly enhance Montenegro’s profile as a sailing and tourist destination. The economic impact is projected to be considerable, with an estimated positive effect on GDP of €8.3 million.

Furthermore, Radulović mentioned that the event is expected to attract around 96,000 visitors over its four-day duration, further solidifying Montenegro’s appeal as a tourist hotspot.

“Montenegro’s visibility and promotion will be guaranteed at all stopover points of The Ocean Race Europe 2025, reaching approximately 1.35 million people,” Radulović concluded.
