Beginning August 1, Montenegrin residents can apply for a share of €8.6 million in non-repayable funds aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in homes across the country.
The program allocates €7.5 million to support upgrades in individual homes and apartments within collective housing units, and €1.1 million specifically for the thermal insulation of facades in collective residential buildings in the municipality of Pljevlja.
The Ministry of Energy has highlighted this initiative as the largest of its kind in Montenegro, with a special emphasis on northern regions.
In addition to the €1.1 million designated for facade insulation in Pljevlja’s collective buildings, €1.7 million is set aside to aid individual households, particularly for measures that address pollution reduction. The remaining €5.8 million will support households in other municipalities throughout Montenegro.
Each applicant can receive up to €10,000 in grant funding.
The grant program covers a range of energy efficiency measures, including installing thermal insulation on building facades, insulating floors against unheated spaces, upgrading to energy-efficient windows, installing modern biomass heating systems, split/multisplit heating and cooling systems, high-efficiency heat pumps, solar water heating systems and photovoltaic systems for self-generated electricity.
