Montenegro’s businesses facing rising blockades: Total debt up by 1.58% at end of August

As of the end of August, data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) reveals that 20,710 companies and entrepreneurs are under financial blockade, marking a slight rise from the previous month.

The aggregate debt leading to these blockades totals nearly €1.31 billion, which represents a 1.58% increase compared to July’s figures.

The report underscores a notable concentration of debt among a few large debtors. Specifically, the ten largest debtors, who make up just 0.05% of the total number of entities, are responsible for 30.64% of the total blocked amount, totaling €402.25 million.

Additionally, 50 major debtors, representing only 0.24% of all entities, account for 50.84% of the total blocked funds, amounting to €667.44 million.
