Nikola Vujović, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG), stated that the Czech economy could serve as a model for Montenegro in terms of economic diversification, innovation and resilience to global challenges. He made these remarks during the Montenegro-Czech Business Forum held in Podgorica, highlighting that Montenegro’s economy could greatly benefit from learning from the Czech development model, especially in areas such as the defense industry, engineering, and information technology.
Vujović pointed out that the Czech Republic has proven to be one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe, with its approach to leveraging the benefits of European Union membership offering valuable insights for Montenegro. The forum, organized by PKCG in collaboration with the Czech Embassy and the Czech Defense and Security Industry Association (AOBP), emphasized the continued strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. This was confirmed by the third business forum in less than a year.
He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in reinforcing the relationship between the two nations and in opening new avenues for joint projects. Vujović also underscored Montenegro’s openness to Czech investments, particularly in the defense industry and ICT sectors, noting that Montenegro offers a stable business environment, competitive tax conditions, and a growing economy that could attract Czech investors.
Kristyna Helm, Vice President of AOBP, stressed the importance of economic diplomacy and state support in strengthening international cooperation. She mentioned that the Czech Republic continuously expands its portfolio in defense and strategic economic initiatives, supported by key partners such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and business delegations. Helm also noted that the defense sector, due to its reliance on government and military customers, requires strong institutional and diplomatic support to thrive.
The forum concluded with bilateral meetings between business representatives, discussing opportunities for collaboration on joint projects.
