Montenegro allocates €500,000 for employment projects supporting people with disabilities

The Board of Directors of the Employment Agency of Montenegro has approved a €500,000 grant scheme aimed at funding employment projects for people with disabilities listed as unemployed.

“The Agency will announce a Public Call for funding from the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities tomorrow, October 4, 2024. These non-refundable funds are intended for both legal and natural persons that enhance professional rehabilitation and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, with a goal of involving at least 80 people in these projects. The Public Call will remain open for one month, closing on November 4, 2024, at 3 PM,” stated the Agency following today’s Board meeting led by Aleksandar Šipčić.

This initiative reflects the Agency’s continuous efforts to improve employment prospects and support for individuals with disabilities.

The Public Call will be published in the daily newspaper Pobjeda, on the official website of the Employment Agency, and on bulletin boards at labor offices.

In addition, the Board has decided to allocate nearly €90,000 in additional funds to participants in public works programs started in 2024, which will increase the monthly financial support provided per participant.

“This funding will offer extra support for 474 individuals across 158 beneficiaries, covering various social, humanitarian, and educational programs,” the statement noted.

These initiatives are anticipated to positively influence the labor market, promoting the sustainability of ongoing programs and enhancing the inclusion of individuals from the unemployment registry into the workforce.
