Montenegro’s Transport Minister discusses reforms and projects with French Embassy and Development Agency

Montenegro’s Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, met with representatives from the French Embassy and the French Development Agency to discuss projects under her ministry’s purview, within the framework of Montenegro’s Reform Agenda.

Vukićević held a working meeting with French Ambassador An-Mari Maske, Mathieu Vasseur, Regional Director of the French Development Agency for Eurasia, Cyril Belieu, Director for Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and Arnaud Dauphin, Director of the Regional Office for the Western Balkans.

“The meeting was an opportunity for the representatives of the French Development Agency to familiarize Vukićević and her team with their global activities, as well as their presence in the Western Balkans,” stated the Ministry in a press release.

Minister Vukićević spoke about the implementation of Montenegro’s Reform Agenda from now until 2027, which is a crucial tool for EU reforms and growth under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. The agenda aims to implement necessary reforms to accelerate Montenegro’s integration into the European Union.

“The government, in close cooperation with the European Commission (EC), has identified priority policy areas for reform measures. Vukićević further briefed her counterparts on projects under the Ministry’s responsibility,” the statement added.

The meeting also covered the activities of the French Development Agency in areas such as digital and green transitions, urban mobility, and public space usage, as well as the technical expertise the agency can provide.
