The Municipality of Kolašin has announced a tender for the conceptual design of a gondola that will connect the Breza settlement to the ski resorts on Bjelasica Mountain.
As stated, previous planning for the development of winter tourism did not encompass all the tourist facilities built so far in the region or their integration. The new gondola project aims to connect existing and planned tourist attractions, thus expanding the local tourism offer.
The capacity of the future panoramic-ski gondola will be 2,000 passengers per hour. The starting station will be in Breza, and the exit station will be at the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center. Intermediate stations will include the Smrčje Railway Station, Ćirilovac and the Kolašin 1450 Ski Resort.
The preferred elevation for the starting station is between 940 and 960 meters above sea level, and the exit station should be located at an altitude of 1,550 to 1,650 meters.
The procurement value for the design phase is 17,000 EUR.
The construction of the gondola is considered a priority project by the Government of Montenegro. The draft budget for the next year includes funding for this project, which is expected to be completed by 2030, with an estimated total investment of 60 million EUR. The capital budget for 2025 will cover the costs of preparing and reviewing technical documentation, land expropriation and the construction works.
