In July, the average prices of goods and services in Montenegro increased by 3.5% compared to the same period last year, and by 0.4% from June, according to Monstat data. The monthly inflation was most affected by price increases in accommodation services, motor vehicle fuels, restaurants, cafés, meat, coffee, tea and cocoa, fruit, oils and fats, and air travel.
Between January and July, prices rose by an average of 4.6% compared to the same period last year.
Examining major categories of expenditures, the following price changes were noted in July compared to June:
- Restaurants and hotels: +4.6%
- Transportation: +1.5%
- Furniture, household equipment, and routine home maintenance: +0.8%
- Food and non-alcoholic beverages and healthcare: +0.5% each
- Other goods and services: +0.4%
- Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels: +0.2%
- Alcoholic beverages and tobacco and recreation and culture: +0.1% each
Prices in the clothing and footwear sector decreased by 3.9%.
Prices for other goods and services remained largely unchanged.
