A representative of the Greek Government, Konstantinos Fragkogiannis, has announced that Greek companies are interested in investing in Montenegro, emphasizing the need to strengthen economic ties between the countries of the Western Balkans, with a focus on green energy, renewable energy sources, infrastructure, banking, and tourism.
Finance Minister Novica Vuković and Acting Director of the Investment Agency, Snežana Đurović, along with their associates, held discussions today with Fragkogiannis, who is the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece and the Ambassador of Greece to Montenegro, Panayotis Partsos, about the possibilities of deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Ministry’s statement, Vuković emphasized that the Government is very open to new investors, reminding that the drafting of a law on strategic investments is planned.
He also pointed out the important role of the Investment Agency in creating a more attractive environment for investors, providing support in implementation, as well as monitoring the flow of investments.
Fragkogiannis emphasized that Greece strongly supports the acceleration of Montenegro’s integration path and full membership in the European Union (EU), expressing the readiness of Greece to provide Montenegro with the necessary expertise and technical support on that path.
Vuković thanked for the open support, emphasizing that joining the European family is the Government’s leading foreign policy goal.
“The meeting noted that the traditionally good cooperation between the two countries, evidenced by the significant presence of Greek companies in Montenegro, can be further intensified, on which, as stated, joint efforts will be dedicated in the future,”
