The total foreign trade turnover of Montenegro in the past year, according to preliminary data from Monstat, amounted to 4.48 billion EUR, which is 5.9 percent higher compared to 2022.
Monstat announced that exported goods amounted to 674.3 million EUR, which is 3.7 percent less compared to 2022. Imports were higher by 7.7 percent, totaling 3.8 billion EUR.
“The trade balance coverage ratio stood at 17.7 percent, lower compared to the corresponding period when it was 19.8 percent,” the statement said.
In the export structure, mineral fuels and lubricants were the most represented at 239.8 million EUR, followed by electrical energy at 206.8 million EUR, among others.
In the import structure, machinery and transport equipment were the most represented at 885 million EUR, with road vehicles at 329.9 million EUR, among others.
The largest trading partners in exports were Serbia with 190.8 million EUR, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 75.5 million EUR, and Slovenia with 73.5 million EUR.
The largest trading partners in imports were Serbia with 661.7 million EUR, China with 424.7 million EUR, and Germany with 368.2 million EUR.
Foreign trade turnover was highest with signatories of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and the European Union (EU).
