Foreign Investors Council in Montenegro tackles legal challenges and regulatory updates

At the first meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Foreign Investors Council in Montenegro, the committee discussed its objectives, with a special focus on addressing key legal challenges faced by the business community.

The committee, according to the statement, paid significant attention to regulatory trends in various sectors and the challenges of aligning them with the existing legal framework.

Legal experts from member companies emphasized the importance of joint action in improving the regulatory framework and strengthening adherence to the rule of law principles.

The need for more efficient cooperation among all relevant stakeholders was highlighted, with a particular emphasis on coordination during the adoption and amendment of laws.

The committee is led by lawyer Ana Ivanović (Moravčević, Vojnović and Partners in cooperation with Schoenherr), and its members include representatives from companies such as One Montenegro, Mtel, Sava Insurance, Hipotekarna Bank, NLB, Erste Bank, Domen, Axians, Karanović and Partners, Montenegro Stars, Finveo, Azmont, and Generali Insurance.

The Foreign Investors Council in Montenegro is the only business association that exclusively gathers foreign companies, which together generate about 23% of the country’s GDP.
