Montenegro’s first Crowne Plaza hotel set to open in Podgorica’s Capital Plaza

The first Crowne Plaza hotel in Montenegro will open by the end of the year in the Capital Plaza business center in Podgorica, announced BIG CEE.

Capital Plaza, a multifunctional complex owned by BIG CEE, will host the renowned Crowne Plaza brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading global hospitality company. This will mark the debut of Crowne Plaza in Montenegro. Along with Voco Podgorica, Regent Porto Montenegro, and Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi, the new hotel will become the fourth IHG-branded property in the country, further strengthening the company’s presence in Montenegro.

The hotel, with a capacity of 122 rooms, is strategically located within the Capital Plaza complex, surrounded by the regional headquarters of several major multinational companies, including Deloitte, PwC, and the World Bank. The Capital Plaza complex itself features residential, luxury commercial, retail, and hospitality spaces, making it an ideal destination for both locals and visitors.

Lev Weiss, CEO of BIG CEE, added, “We have great confidence in Podgorica and Montenegro. In addition to the Capital Plaza, we also own BIG Fashion Podgorica, the largest and most developed shopping center in the country, and we are working on plans for its long-awaited expansion. We are proud to add this hotel to the IHG portfolio and look forward to welcoming both local and international guests, ensuring a top-tier guest experience. BIG CEE remains committed to investing in and expanding its portfolio in Montenegro and beyond.”
