EPCG announces tender for solar panel procurement for Kapino Polje L1 solar power plant

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) has announced a tender for the procurement of photovoltaic panels for the Kapino Polje L1 solar power plant (SPP) in Nikšić.

The tender includes the procurement of 8,625 photovoltaic modules, each with a capacity of 580 Wp. The total capacity of the solar power plant will be 5 MWp.

The tender’s value is EUR 500,000 without VAT, or EUR 605,000 including VAT.

Bids must be submitted by March 19, no later than 10 AM.

The contract completion deadline is a minimum of 40 days and a maximum of 70 days from the contract signing.

This marks the beginning of the realization of a project worth around EUR 35 million. EPCG had previously issued tenders for the procurement of reinforcement mesh and anti-corrosion protection for the Kapino Polje L1 and L2 solar power plants, as well as for machinery, tools, consumables, and the engagement of construction machinery for loading, transportation, and installation of prefabricated concrete foundations for the steel structure of the Kapino Polje L1 SPP.

Moreover, the company submitted a request to the Secretariat for Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection of the Municipality of Nikšić in February to determine the need for an environmental impact assessment.

EPCG has previously highlighted that one of its most ambitious projects in the solar energy sector is the development of a solar power plant complex at the Kapino Polje site in Nikšić. With a total capacity of 61.09 MWp and a value of EUR 35.1 million, the complex is set to become one of the most significant renewable energy sources in the country.

The project is divided into four phases. The Kapino Polje L1 SPP will have a capacity of 6.04 MWp, with a value of EUR 3.5 million, while the Kapino Polje L2 SPP will have a capacity of 6.02 MWp, also valued at EUR 3.5 million. Both plants have received construction permits, financing is secured, and construction work has already begun.

The Kapino Polje B1 SPP will have a capacity of 11.43 MWp, with a value of EUR 6.6 million. Finally, the Kapino Polje B2 SPP will have a total capacity of 37.6 MWp and a cost of EUR 22.5 million. Both plants have received construction permits, and the environmental impact assessment process is ongoing. Once this phase is completed, construction will commence.

The construction of this complex is highly significant for the local community in Nikšić, not only because it will increase electricity production but also due to the creation of new jobs during both the construction and maintenance phases of the plants.
