Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) has announced a tender for the installation of the A8 unit at the Perućica Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP Perućica).
This tender will be carried out in cooperation with the German Development Bank (KfW). It is worth noting that in September, EPCG representatives signed a loan agreement with this bank valued at 40 million EUR, aimed specifically at financing the installation of the A8 unit.
As mentioned in the invitation, the power plant’s own consumption system, the machine hall, and the 110 kV switchgear were built as part of the final phase of the Perućica Hydroelectric Plant, which involves the installation of an additional eighth unit, alongside the existing seven. The eighth unit would have a nominal power of 58.5 MW, increasing the plant’s total nominal power from 307 MW to 365.5 MW, while the plant’s flow would rise from 68 m³/s to 80.75 m³/s. The new A8 unit will be connected to the existing A6 and A7 units via a third pressurized pipeline, designed for a flow rate of 3×12.75 m³/s, covering the flow of units A6, A7, and the planned A8 unit (each with 12.75 m³/s).
In parallel with the installation, delivery, assembly, and commissioning of electromechanical equipment, construction works on the drainage system are planned. This includes completing work on the A8 unit tunnel and connecting it to the Zeta River bed. Additionally, other essential construction works required for the installation of electromechanical equipment for the A8 unit will also be carried out.
The overall scope of work includes, but is not limited to: collecting data on the plant and equipment, developing project documentation, procuring materials and equipment, manufacturing and testing new equipment in factories, packaging, transportation, and storage at the construction site, securing the work, dismantling existing equipment and storing it at the site, equipment assembly, commissioning, trial operation, and obligations during the warranty period.
EPCG will provide site visits and a pre-bid meeting on February 5th and 6th, starting at 9 AM.
Bids must be submitted no later than April 2nd by 11 AM.
The commissioning of the eighth unit is planned for 2027. It should also be noted that EPCG and the Montenegrin Transmission System (CGES) signed an agreement in April for connection to the transmission system.
