The “Eighth Electroengineers’ Days IKCG”, a two-day event aimed at bringing together electrical engineers from Montenegro and the region, was officially opened at the Knjaz estate in Podgorica. The event is organized by the Chamber of Professional Electrical Engineers of Montenegro and provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and networking.
Milutin Đukanović, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), highlighted the importance of energy transition for the country’s development. He emphasized that Montenegro’s energy sector faces significant opportunities, focusing on long-term projects like hydroelectric plants and immediate actions, such as the deployment of solar power. Đukanović also spoke about the need for integrating solar and hydroelectric infrastructure, as well as developing battery systems to support energy storage.
The opening ceremony also featured speeches from other industry leaders, including Željko Maraš (President of the Organizing Committee of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro), Rajko Radusinović (President of the Chamber of Professional Electrical Engineers), and representatives from CGES and the Ministry of Energy.
This year’s event includes presentations from engineers and companies in Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia, covering topics related to electrical engineering innovations and legislative frameworks. The event also features exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge products and solutions in the energy sector.
“Eight Days of Electroengineers” brings together active and retired members of the profession, and participation is free for all attendees. The event aims not only to facilitate knowledge sharing but also to strengthen the professional community by fostering connections with both local and international companies.
The event will continue until November 28, offering an opportunity for further discussions on the future of the electrical engineering sector in the context of Montenegro’s energy transition.
