Customs Administration reports 9% revenue increase in January-October

The Montenegrin Customs Administration reported a gross collection of €1.08 billion in customs revenues for the period from January to October 2024, marking an increase of €91 million, or 9%, compared to the same period last year.

According to the Customs Administration, the revenue target for this period was exceeded by €16.7 million, or 2%.

The administration noted that all categories of customs duties showed positive growth in collections.

  • The largest revenue increase came from excise duties, which totaled €318.7 million, representing a €42 million, or 15%, increase compared to last year.
  • For import VAT, the gross collection amounted to €709.2 million, up by €42 million, or 6%, year-on-year.
  • Customs duties collected reached €50.5 million, an increase of €6.7 million, or 15%, compared to the same period in 2023. Revenue from the coffee tax stood at €2.2 million, while other customs revenues amounted to €104,000.

In October alone, the total customs revenue was €115.89 million, reflecting an increase of €11.95 million, or 11.5%, from the same month last year.

The Customs Administration emphasized its continued efforts to ensure efficient revenue collection, which plays a crucial role in increasing overall budget revenues, while implementing strong fiscal policies to maintain financial stability.
