Montenegro Chamber of Commerce Seeks member feedback on 2027 Fiscal Strategy

The Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG) has invited its members to submit comments and suggestions on the Fiscal Strategy of Montenegro through 2027, which the Government has put out for public discussion.

“Comments and suggestions should be submitted by Wednesday to the email pkcg@pkcg.org to consolidate opinions and form a unified stance on this document,” PKCG stated.

PKCG has specifically urged micro and small businesses, which make up over 99 percent of the economy, to respond to the call and provide their feedback or comments.

The draft of the Fiscal Strategy of Montenegro through 2027 has been prepared by the Ministry of Finance, in accordance with the Budget and Fiscal Responsibility Law.

Based on Montenegro’s economic policy, strategic priorities, and fiscal responsibility criteria, the Fiscal Strategy presents the goals of fiscal policy, measures and activities to achieve those goals, and macroeconomic and fiscal projections for the period until 2027.

The draft Fiscal Strategy outlines higher salaries for all employees in Montenegro, with an average salary of €1,000, a minimum wage averaging €700, pension increases of seven to eight percent starting next year, revenue adjustments from contributions covered by general budget revenues and new tax policy measures, efforts to reduce the shadow economy, while the standard VAT rate will remain at its current level of 21 percent.
