The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has released a new list of companies with blocked accounts, which now includes 110 more blocked companies than the previous month, according to Mina Business.
The latest list, published monthly by the CBCG in accordance with the Law on Payment Operations, comprises approximately 20,900 companies from the Central Register of Business Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG. Of the total number of blocked companies, 3,470 are recorded by the CBCG but are not listed in the CRPS.
As per the Law on Payment Operations, the CBCG is required to publish information related to enforced collection procedures, including the names of companies or entrepreneurs, their identification numbers, the amounts of account blocks, and the number of consecutive days the accounts have been blocked.
The CBCG clarified that identification numbers for entrepreneurs are not disclosed because they are recorded in the Central Register of Transaction Accounts using a unique citizen identification number (JMB), the publication of which is not compliant with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The CBCG publishes this data once a month on its website on the first business day of the month, reflecting the status as of the last day of the previous month, organized alphabetically by the names of the companies and entrepreneurs.
Since July 2012, when the CBCG began publishing this data, up until January 9, 2014, information was released based on the then-current Law on Payment Operations, specifically for companies or entrepreneurs whose account blocks exceeded ten thousand euros and lasted more than 30 days.
