The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has published a new list of companies with blocked accounts, which includes 24 fewer companies compared to the previous list.
The new list, published monthly by the CBCG in accordance with the Law on Payment Transactions, includes 20,890 companies registered in the Central Registry of Business Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG. Of the total number of blocked companies, 3,460 are registered with the CBCG but do not appear in the CRPS.
In line with the Law on Payment Transactions, the CBCG is required to publish data related to enforced collection procedures, including the names of companies or entrepreneurs, their identification numbers, the amounts of account blockages, and the number of consecutive days the blockage has been in effect.
The CBCG explained that identification numbers for entrepreneurs are not published, as they are recorded in the Central Registry of Transaction Accounts of the Central Bank using the unique personal identification number (JMB) of citizens, the publication of which is not in compliance with the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The CBCG publishes the data monthly on its website, on the first working day following the end of the month, with a snapshot of the status as of the last day of the month, listed in alphabetical order by the names of companies and entrepreneurs.
From July 2012, when the CBCG began publishing the data, until January 9, 2014, the information was published in accordance with the then-effective Law on Payment Transactions in the country. Data was published for companies or entrepreneurs when the account blockage exceeded €10,000 and had been in continuous effect for more than 30 days.
The names of the companies are published on the CBCG website, www.cbcg.me, and are listed in alphabetical order to ensure full impartiality.
