Bank liquid assets increase in July, total capital grows steadily

At the end of July, banks in the region reported liquid assets totaling €1.48 billion, representing a 9.23% increase from June. However, this figure is 16.71% lower than in July of the previous year.

Liquidity ratios for the banking sector remained above the required minimums on both daily and weekly assessments.

The total balance sheet for banks was €6.84 billion, up 1.96% from June and up 2.79% year-on-year.

In terms of asset structure, loans comprised the largest portion at 65.01%, followed by securities at 18.11% and cash along with deposits at central banks accounting for 13.63%. Other asset items made up 3.25%.

On the liability side, deposits accounted for a significant 81.15%, with capital at 12.48% and borrowings at 3.3%, while other liabilities constituted 3.07%.

Total bank capital reached €853.77 million at the end of July, reflecting a monthly growth of 2.33% and an annual increase of 10.55%.
