Austrian companies operating in Montenegro are an exemplary model of management and entrepreneurship, serving as an additional force for the country’s economic development, according to Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, Nik Đelošaj.
As announced by the Ministry of Economic Development, Đelošaj met today with the newly appointed Austrian Ambassador to Montenegro, Christian Steiner.
Đelošaj emphasized the excellent economic cooperation between Montenegro and Austria, particularly highlighting the exemplary foreign trade exchange between the two countries. He also pointed out the growing direct foreign investments (FDI) from Austria into Montenegro.
“We are proud of the presence and impressive work of Austrian companies in Montenegro, which not only set a good example of management and entrepreneurship but also serve as an additional driving force for the economic development of our country,” said Đelošaj.
He also acknowledged the Ministry of Economic Development’s contribution to Montenegro’s European integration process.
“We are working diligently to close negotiation chapters with the European Union (EU). In a short period, we have taken concrete steps on our European path, and by the end of the year, we will close four chapters. In three of them, my team and I from the Ministry of Economic Development have made key contributions,” Đelošaj added.
Štajner praised the excellent bilateral and constructive relations between the two countries and confirmed Austria’s unwavering support for Montenegro’s European integration.
The two officials also discussed further strengthening economic cooperation and deepening the partnership toward Montenegro’s EU membership.
