Practical education for students with employers is seen as a significant opportunity to overcome the labor force shortage, one of the biggest challenges for the Montenegrin economy, according to a meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).
At the meeting, led by PKCG President Nina Drakić and the Director of the Center for Vocational Education (CSO), Aleksandra Lalević, it was emphasized that the economy must be more strongly involved in this form of education.
According to a statement from PKCG, the discussion highlighted the need to promote lifelong learning and to license more companies to provide such training.
“The goal is to educate workers in line with labor market needs, which is especially important in the tourism sector, where an additional 20,000 workers are needed during the season,” the statement noted. The meeting was also attended by PKCG Vice President Dragan Kujović and CSO Board Member DuÅ¡an BoÅ¡ković.
PKCG stated that particular attention was given to the possibility of training instructors for practical education, to enhance cooperation between businesses and schools, as well as to improve the quality of the training itself.
“Additionally, by improving this aspect and strengthening Montenegro’s image as a destination that successfully promotes lifelong learning, it can become an attractive place for students from the region participating in mobility programs,” the statement added.
According to representatives from PKCG and CSO, they will continue to work synergistically in the field of dual education through promotional activities, organizing events to raise awareness, motivating employers to participate in the process, and contributing to the improvement of the regulations governing it.
