Airports under concession mean strong economic growth fueled by tourism

Concessioning airports could accelerate transformative change and improve business. There would be better air connectivity, which is particularly important for Montenegro as an air destination – aviation expert Jusuf Jamakosmanović said.

According to him, the infrastructure of the airport is crucial for the successful performance of air traffic and requires significant financial investments in order to comply with international standards, and to ensure the operational success of the airline and improve the passenger experience.

– Podgorica has a relatively advanced infrastructure compared to the airport in Tivat. Tivat Airport, despite all its problems, managed to attract Turkish Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world. Montenegro has an advantage because it has an administration that manages both airports, which enables simpler strategic decisions, unlike Bosnia and Herzegovina, where all four airports are managed independently by four different authorities – Jamakosmanović said.
